31.08.17 We returned to the council offices and I realised (or had done so quite quickly when talking about the walk and during it)., that because this group are scattered that for the walk to pick out places for them that are personal we'd have had to walk around the broader area of at least 10 miles! My assumptions about the nearness of locality for them, perhaps skewed by studies I've read which focus on urban walks, where young people involved all go to the same schools and live within a very small area have a very different kind of reach...We spent about 90 mins walking and only on the last strait before we reached the offices did L complain she was tired. They are all used to walking distances.
